Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations

Our objective is to offer a comprehensive assessment to diagnose communication delays and disorders. Information is gathered from parent/guardian interviews, formal and informal testing to develop individualized treatment plans. At the conclusion of the evaluation, our therapists will provide a detailed report including results, clinical impressions, diagnosis, recommendations and a treatment plan of care.

Social Skills and Pragmatic Language Groups

Our social pragmatic language groups are specialized to help children develop effective social communication skills and pragmatic language abilities. Pragmatic language refers to the use of language in social contexts, taking into account factors like tone, context, nonverbal cues, and the expectations of the listener. These groups provide a structured and supportive environment for participants to practice and refine their social interactions and communication skills. They are tailored to incorporate skills that are relevant in a variety of settings such as home, school, social gatherings and current technology/social platforms. We have groups for school age children through the teenage years. Some skills that are targeted:

  • Flexibility
  • Conversational turn-taking
  • Problem-solving
  • Body language/facial expressions
  • Empathy and perspective-taking

Social Skills and Pragmatic Language Groups are particularly beneficial for individuals with conditions like autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other social communication challenges. These groups provide a safe space for learning, practicing, and refining essential social skills that contribute to successful interactions and relationships.
